കാന്‍സറിനെ തോല്‌പിക്കാന്‍ കയ്‌പ്പക്ക...!

ആരോഗ്യമുള്ള ഒരുകോശത്തില്‍ കടക്കുന്ന കാന്‍സര്‍ വൈറസ്‌ ഉടന്‍ തന്നെ ആ കോശത്തിലെ ജീവല്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനങ്ങളുടെ നിയന്ത്രണം ഏറ്റെടുക്കുകയാണ്‌ ചെയ്യുന്നത്‌. ഇങ്ങനെ വൈറസ്‌ അതിനാവശ്യമായ സാഹചര്യങ്ങള്‍ കോശത്തിനുള്ളില്‍ ഉണ്ടാക്കുന്നു. കോശത്തിന്‌ ഊര്‍ജം ലഭിക്കാത്ത സാഹചര്യമുണ്ടാക്കിയാല്‍ കോശം നശിക്കുകയും ഒപ്പം വൈറസിന്റെ പ്രവര്‍ത്തനം തടയപ്പെടുകയും ചെയ്യും.

കയ്‌പ്പക്ക അഥവാ പാവയ്‌ക്ക പിഴിഞ്ഞുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന നീരിന്‌ കോശത്തിന്റെ ഗ്ലൂക്കോസ്‌ വിനിയോഗ പ്രക്രിയയില്‍ ഇടപെട്ട്‌ അതിനെ തടസ്സപ്പെടുത്താന്‍ കഴിയും. ഇങ്ങനെ ഊര്‍ജം ലഭിക്കാത്ത കാന്‍സര്‍ കോശങ്ങള്‍ നശിക്കാനിടയാകുന്നു.
ആഗ്നേയഗ്രന്ഥിയുടെ കാന്‍സര്‍ ബാധിച്ച എലികള്‍ക്ക്‌ പാവയ്‌ക്കാനീര്‌ കൊടുത്ത്‌ ശാസ്‌ത്രജ്ഞന്മാര്‍ പരീക്ഷണം നടത്തി. ഇവയില്‍ കാന്‍സര്‍ ബാധ വര്‍ധിക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള സാധ്യത സാധാരണ എലികളിലേതിനേക്കാള്‍ 60 ശതമാനം കുറവുള്ളതായാണ്‌ കണ്ടെത്താന്‍ കഴിഞ്ഞത്‌.

Bitter gourd juice can interfere with the glucose metabolism in the cell.  This will starve the cell of energy and kill the affected pancreatic cancer cells.  
Mouse models of pancreatic cancer were fed with bitter gourd juice.  They were 60% less likely to develop the disease than other mice that were not given the juice.
